Auto OEMs benefit from unequalled e-coating simulation technology
Elsyca has developed a platform enabling fast and accurate simulation of e-coating processes. Deposited layer thickness and current density distributions are calculated over time and problem areas are identified.
The platform essentially enables to define the optimal "window of operation" as well as to execute "dry run" what-if scenarios already in the product design stage.
Elsyca's unique paint bath characterization approach guarantees optimal simulation accuracy.
The main features of the simulation platform include:
Simulate the "moving body" trajectory in real time throughout the e-coating tank, including entry/exit angle, imposing the adequate voltage programs for each group of tank anodes
Identify problem areas with paint layer thickness values below spec's e.g. surface areas inside reinforcement pillars
Identify gas traps and paint "drag over"
Simulations range from full body (BIW) to fast detailed zooms
Taking into account different base materials of the BIW
The technology definitely offers the answer to the green coating need: It will clearly predict how a new paint bath will behave with current and future vehicles in existing or future infrastructure, without any physical tryout.
